10 Absolute Must-Dos in Jersey This April 2026!

Category: Things To Do, Events

Hey everyone, Alyssa here!

Can you believe we’re already heading into the middle of April? The weather is finally starting to turn, the island is totally waking up from its winter hibernation, and St. Helier is buzzing. If you're wondering how to fill your group chats and weekend planners for the rest of the month, you are in the exact right place.

Jersey’s event scene is absolutely thriving right now. Whether you're a massive foodie (guilty 🙋‍♀️), an art lover, or just looking for a fun day out with friends, I’ve combed through all the data to bring you the ultimate April hit list.

Here are the top 10 things you need to check out in Jersey this April! I've linked everything straight to our internal directories here at Whatsonjersey.com so you can explore venues, read reviews, and book your spots right now. Let's get into it!

1. Catch the Channel Islands Contemporary Art Show

When: Running until May 3 Where: ArtHouse Jersey at Capital House

This is the cultural crossover event of the season. ArtHouse Jersey has teamed up with galleries from Guernsey and France for a massive exhibition featuring 17 different artists. Expect bold sculptures, digital art, and paintings that totally capture the vibe and fragility of island life. Fun fact: there is an artist talk happening today (April 9th!), with another one scheduled for the 25th!

2. Live Your Strictly Dreams at La Haule Manor

When: April 11 Where: La Haule Manor

Okay, where are my Strictly Come Dancing fans? The stunning La Haule Manor is hosting a "Let's Dance" event featuring actual TV royalty, Angela Rippon CBE, and professional dancer Ian Waite! During the day, there are free interactive dance workshops (yes, free!). But if you want to get glamorous, grab tickets for the evening Gala (£75). It features a sparkling reception, an exclusive Q&A, and a gorgeous "Around the World" dinner buffet.

3. Spoil Yourself at the Taste Jersey Food Festival

When: All Month (Ends April 30) Where: Multiple Luxury Venues

Treat yourself! Taste Jersey is basically a massive island-wide flex of our incredible local produce (hello, Jersey Royals and fresh oysters). Instead of one big tent, this festival takes place across the island’s most gorgeous dining rooms. You have to try the tasting menus at the Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, the Michelin-starred perfection at Bohemia Bar & Restaurant, or grab an upscale bite with a view at Ocean Restaurant.

4. Sneak a Peek Inside the Refurbished Jersey Opera House

When: April 15 (12:00 PM - 4:00 PM) Where: Jersey Opera House

We’ve all been waiting to see what the £12.5 million glow-up looks like, and for World Art Day, they are throwing the doors open! You can book a free, 45-minute behind-the-scenes architectural tour. You get to walk through the shiny new Stalls Foyer, stand in the 650-seat auditorium, and even step out onto the main stage. Spots are capped at 20 people per tour, so check out their venue page and book ASAP.

5. Feel the Adrenaline at Millbrook Beach Racing

When: April 18 Where: St. Aubin's Bay / Coronation Park (Millbrook)

If you want something loud, fast, and totally unique to Jersey, get down to St. Aubin's Bay for the start of the motorsport season. The Jersey Motorcycle & Light Car Club turns the beach into a high-octane racing circuit at low tide! It’s wild watching motorbikes and beach buggies drifting on the wet sand. Best of all? It’s completely free to watch. Grab a coffee and secure a good viewpoint.

6. Walk the Ocean Floor (Literally)

When: April 18 & 19 Where: Green Island (La Motte) and La Sambue Reef

If engines and noise aren't your vibe, reconnect with nature on one of these incredible Intertidal Guided Walks. Because our tidal range is so massive, local experts can safely guide you out to marine pools and usually-submerged reefs. On the 18th, you can explore La Motte, and on the 19th, you can walk all the way out to La Sambue! It's £29 for an adult and is honestly the most grounding, beautiful way to spend an afternoon.

7. Get Mind-Blown by Motionhouse's 'Hidden'

When: April 23 & 24 Where: Jersey Opera House

This is not your standard theatre trip. Motionhouse is a world-renowned dance-circus company, and their new show Hidden is testing out all the Opera House's brand new tech. We’re talking gravity-defying acrobatics, a pulsing original soundtrack, and insane digital projections that turn the stage into a living, shape-shifting movie. Tickets are between £21 and £30—an absolute steal for an international vanguard show.

8. Eat Everything at the Delicious Jersey Food Festival

When: April 25 & 26 Where: Weighbridge Place & Liberation Square

If Taste Jersey is about exclusive fine dining, Delicious Jersey is a massive, free-to-enter street food party right in the heart of St. Helier! It’s the ultimate weekend hangout spot. You can shop at artisan retail stalls, watch live cooking demos, and graze on amazing local food. Also, a huge shoutout to the local brewers and distillers—this is the perfect place to sample some independent Jersey-made drinks.

9. Sing Your Heart Out at Seven Drunken Nights

When: April 25 & 26 Where: Jersey Opera House

Directly following the modern acrobatics of Hidden, the Opera House totally switches gears with the 10th Anniversary tour of Seven Drunken Nights - The Story of The Dubliners. If you love a pint and belting out "Whiskey in the Jar" or "The Irish Rover," this is your night. It’s a high-energy, feel-good tribute to traditional Irish folk music. Expect the atmosphere to be absolutely electric.

10. Reflect and Remember at the Liberation 80 Exhibits

When: Ongoing through April and May Where: Hamptonne Country Life Museum & Jersey Museum

With Liberation Day (May 9) fast approaching, April is the perfect time to engage with our island's history. There are two incredibly moving exhibitions happening right now. At Hamptonne, you can watch "Liberation 80: A Day to Remember," a gorgeous film projection featuring the actual audio voices of Islanders who lived through the occupation. Meanwhile, Jersey Heritage has just opened "Life after Liberation" at the Jersey Museum, a deep dive into the gritty reality of rebuilding the island post-1945. It’s an emotional, must-see experience.
