Late July is officially my favourite time to be in St Helier. Just as summer peaks, the island’s capital completely transforms, swapping its usual bustling traffic for pedestrian-friendly street parties, outdoor dining, and sprawling beach stages. If you are looking for Jersey summer festivals in July 2026, you are in luck: the Parish of St Helier is delivering what is effectively a 'festival fortnight', back-to-back weekenders that showcase the very best of our town and coast.

Before we head to the beach, we start in the heart of town. The Fête de St Hélier is an expansive, community-focused street fair that takes over the roads surrounding the Town Hall and York Street. Celebrating Jersey's patron saint and our rich Norman heritage, the area becomes a hive of artisan stalls, local makers, and fantastic street food pop-ups.
Because entry is completely free, it’s the kind of event you can simply wander into while doing your weekend shopping. Expect live performances scattered throughout the precinct, giving the whole town a vibrant, continental feel. It is a brilliant way to ease into the summer festival spirit, offering plenty of activities for families and a great excuse to grab an al fresco lunch right in the shopping district.
If the Fête is the warm-up, the Havre des Pas Seaside Festival is the island's definitive summer party. Taking place over the final weekend of July, the entire Havre des Pas promenade is closed to traffic, transforming the historic Victorian waterfront into a massive two-day beach festival.
The energy here is truly special. The festival revolves around the iconic Havre des Pas Lido—our historic tidal bathing pool—which is entering an exciting new era this summer with fresh management and updated cafe facilities. The whole stretch of coastline fills with thousands of locals and visitors.
You’ll find three distinct music stages offering everything from mellow acoustic afternoon sets to upbeat live bands, plus a dedicated DJ stage right on the beach. Alongside the music, there are endless local food vendors, outdoor bars, and traditional beach games for the kids.
A crucial planning note: Tickets for the Seaside Festival are only available on the door. There is no advance online booking. At just £3 for a day pass or £5 for the whole weekend (with under 10s going free), it remains one of the best-value days out on the island. Because the roads are closed, parking in the immediate area is virtually non-existent. I highly recommend walking from the town centre or booking accommodation right on the coast so you can stroll straight out of your hotel and into the festival.
If you are travelling to Jersey specifically for these July festivals, or you’re a local wanting a fun staycation to avoid the taxi queue home, the Havre des Pas area is packed with great accommodation.
For the ultimate convenience, you cannot beat the Marina Metro Hotel & Dockyard Restaurant. Located right on the promenade, this modest but incredibly welcoming spot puts you literal steps from the main festival gates. You can even retreat to their bar for a quiet drink if you need a breather from the bustling crowds.
Just slightly off the main drag on Cleveland Road is the Thalatta Guest House. This is a brilliant option if you want to be close to the beach action but slightly removed from the late-night noise of the music stages. It is highly rated for its homely feel and fabulous breakfasts.
If you prefer to be situated halfway between the Fête de St Hélier in the town centre and the Seaside Festival on the coast, The Norfolk Hotel on La Colomberie is an ideal bridge. It offers a relaxed atmosphere, a coffee shop, and an outdoor pool, making it a great base camp for exploring both weekend events on foot.
Finally, if you are bringing the whole family for the festival fortnight, The Merton Hotel on Belvedere Hill is a fantastic resort-style option. While it’s a short walk down to the Havre des Pas promenade, it boasts an incredible indoor pool complex with waterslides—perfect for keeping the kids entertained before the festival gates open at midday.
While the festival itself is packed with street food stalls, sometimes you just want to sit down for a proper meal. If you are attending the Fête de St Hélier in town, wander over to La Bastille Bar & Brasserie on Queen Street. Tucked away with an easy charm, it offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere and exceptional food—a wonderful spot to escape the midday sun.
Since the Fête de St Hélier celebrates the island's Norman heritage, why not add a bit of real history to your weekend? Before heading down to the beach stages, take a trip out to Elizabeth Castle. Sitting out in St Aubin's Bay, this spectacular 16th-century fortress has defended the island for over 400 years. You can walk out across the causeway at low tide or catch the amphibious ferry, making it a memorable morning excursion before joining the afternoon festival crowds.
With back-to-back weekends of street food, live music, and sea swimming, July is shaping up to be an incredible month in St Helier. Get your dates in the diary, sort your accommodation early, and I will see you down on the promenade—don't forget your sun cream!
