This series of four short workshops is led by Jon Wilks, CEO of the IHSCM. Aimed at people working in Health & Social Care with an interest in leadership.

Module 1 – Me, Myself & I
• Values, principles & ethics – the foundation of performance
• Proper selfishness – look after yourself before attempting to lead and influence others
• The role of a high performance leader – tell / direct / instruct v support / encourage / inspire
• How to boost engagement & why it matters – Prof Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe, corporate leadership council research, Gallup & more
• The language of high performance leadership – draining v oxygenating
Module 2 – High Performing Teams
• Why trust is at the heart of a high performing team
• 5 dysfunctions of a team – step process for understanding & how to rectify
• Your OBT – One Big Thing: how clear, exciting goals enable team performance & how to create them
• Exploration of goal focused performance versus ‘come what may’ – micro case studies & examples
• The Zookeeper – feeding, supporting & developing your animals successfully
Module 3 – Leadership Excellence
• Best boss / worst boss assessment exercise
• G.R.O.W – the coaching methodology to liberate and encourage followers
• Practice G.R.O.W
• How to give effective feedback – the onion model and EESC (example, effect, ssshhh, change / continue)
• Practice EESC model in teams of 3 (breakout rooms)
Module 4 – Change Management
• The mechanics of change & how to positively embrace – PBP (prize, belief, pressure – Dead Poets Society example)
• Our Iceberg is melting – summary, review and discussion
• How to develop a high performance plan – the temple of planning
• Temple of Planning practice
• Bringing it all together – what have we learnt / what have we adopted / what effect is it having?
