Hair and Beauty Skills Camps for student in Year 7 and 8

An introduction to the huge and exciting beauty industry, giving students a chance to explore a wide range of techniques and treatments aimed at inspiring students who may one day want to pursue the industry as a career.
Day 1- Hair day - 9.00am to 3pm
Explore what hairdressing has to offer
Demonstrations and hands on learning
Style hair with tongs and straighteners
Learn how basic colour works using hair pieces
Learn how social media will show your skills to your future clients
Day 2- Beauty day - 9.00am to 3pm
A chance to explore a wide range of techniques and treatments within the huge and exciting beauty industry
Get hands on, learn the importance of self-care and show off your own existing or developing skills in beauty
Simple skincare routine - easy 4 step routine, what the products do and how to use them
Trial your nail art techniques to creative a fun design
Carry out your own make up using a range of techniques and make up products
Showcase your final look at the end of the day!
Sessions will be delivered by qualified teaching staff from Highlands College and supported by staff from Skills Jersey (part of the Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department).
Notes for parents:
Drop-off and pick-up is from the main reception at Highlands College where a member of Skills Jersey's team will be waiting.
Students must bring their own packed lunch.
A parent or guardian name and telephone number must be provided
If a child is not being collected by a parent or guardian, we must have approved permission in advance.
Please make sure your child wears sensible/appropriate clothing and closed toed sturdy shoes.
If there is anything the tutors need to be aware of, please ensure this is passed on prior to the event.
*IMPORTANT* On arrival, a printed or digital version of the ticket must be provided or you child will not be able to take part.
