Our Education Officer, Erin Cowham, will be hosting a drop-in session for families and adults alike to join her in removing the Purple Dew Plant from our coastal strip by the Whitehouse and to learn about this rich habitat that houses several rare wildflower species.
The Purple Dew Plant is an alien invader! This non-native plant species has found its way onto the fragile coastal strips of St. Ouen’s Bay. If not removed, the plant will blanket the grass and sandy areas of the bay, suffocating the growth of Jersey's rich and diverse native species that would normally thrive in this area.
No tools are necessary as we will be hand-pulling the plant from the sandy ground, but please do bring your own gloves if required.
