We may be familiar with the shopping areas of central St Helier but there is much more history to discover out to the west of town too! During the 1800’s the Parade area saw military exploits and rapid commercial development whilst Westmount, or Gallow’s Hill, was the executioner’s domain. Then as land was reclaimed the Esplanade area filled with fancy hotels, a trainline and busy wharehouses. Get a glimpse into this historic area on this 2 hour circular walk starting from the Town Hall.
