Jersey Trees for Life is hosting an open volunteering session in St Mary on Thursday 12 June at 10.00am.
Green Thursday
is the fourth in a series of six volunteering sessions at different locations to celebrate
Great Big Green Week 2025
.
If you're interested in
tree care
, or just fancy getting out into the fresh air for a bit of gentle exercise on a spring morning, we'd love you to join us.
Our aim will be to remove competing species from around young hedgerow as well as performing cursory maintenance, replacing broken shelters and generally improving the area as much as possible.
You can sign up here for free if you're interested in attending.
We'll meet at St Mathieu's Catholic Church (Rue Bechervaise, St Peter) at 10.00am before walking across to the fields between La Longue Rue and La Rue du Couvent where the work will take place:

Parking will be available at the church. The site is also close to a bus stop at Six Roads (St Lawrence) for those using public transport.

For those joining us, please bear in mind the following:
- You must complete a
volunteer working agreement
before attending (link also in confirmation email)
- You may get wet so check the forecast and wear waterproof clothing and boots
- Check the weather and wear sunscreen if appropriate (seasonal)
- You may get tired so don’t push yourself too hard; take it at your own pace
- Bring snacks and drinks to maintain energy levels
- We provide equipment
- Ask our team lots of questions and have fun!
