Jersey Trees for Life is hosting an open volunteering session at Adelina Wood in St Helier on Wednesday 11 June at 10.00am.
Green Wednesday
is the third in a series of six volunteering sessions at different locations to celebrate
Great Big Green Week 2025
.
If you're interested in
tree care
, or just fancy getting out into the fresh air for a bit of gentle exercise on a spring morning, we'd love you to join us.
You can sign up here for free if you're interested in attending.
We'll meet at 10:00am at Adelina Wood, which is just behind Motor Mall on La Grande Route de St Jean:

The entrance is signposted on the main road (just before Motor Mall if heading north) but if you're not familiar with Adelina Wood, please be aware it's not the largest sign.
Parking is available for only a handful of cars so we recommend car sharing where possible. It's also close to a bus stop on the main road, for those using public transport.
If you have any problems finding us on the day, please call Alex on 07797 774676.
The activities that you'll undertake will be based on protecting the trees from root damage through footfall. Walking over a tree's roots is harmful - which is why the world's oldest and most famous trees invariably have protective areas around them. We're looking to mulch these surrounding areas, thereby discouraging footfall while helping keep the areas free of competing species.
For those joining us, please bear in mind the following:
- You must complete a
volunteer working agreement
before attending (link also in confirmation email)
- You may get wet so check the forecast and wear waterproof clothing and boots
- You might get cold so wear layers and don’t forget your hat and gloves
- Check the weather and wear sunscreen if appropriate (seasonal)
- You may get tired so don’t push yourself too hard; take it at your own pace
- Bring snacks and drinks to maintain energy levels
- We provide equipment
- Ask our team lots of questions and have fun!
Jersey Trees for Life regularly hosts extra open volunteering, so keep an eye out.
