Unfortunately we won't be witnessing a colourful Pink Moon... April’s Full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America: Phlox subulata—commonly called Moss Pink. This month we have a "micro moon" which is the opposite of a "super moon". The micro moon is where the moon is at it's farthest from Earth at just 252,225 miles! Moonrise (100%) Time: 21.08 Sunset time: 19.58 Once again we shall be pointing the telescope and binoculars skyward to explore a different world. Jupiter and Mars were showing well last month, as were a number of constellations and we even saw the ISS. What will we find in April? Obviously we are hoping for a clear sky and light winds! Please meet us at the benches above Long Beach car park, Grouville, from 20.30 onwards. If you have binoculars and a folding chair please bring them along. Warm clothing, a blanket and a hot drink could be useful too! For the swimmers ...high tide is at 19.57 and a massive 10.5m Unfortunately the Fish and Chip shop in the village is closed on a Sunday evening. We hope you can join us for what is becoming a very popular social event for all the family. ** FREE EVENT**
