Rory Steel, Head of Digital Jersey Academy will explore the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence with a particular focus on its potential as a research tool for the Société Jersiaise. He will discuss how AI can generate a diverse range of content—from historical analyses to cultural studies—thus broadening and deepening our collective understanding across a variety of subjects. By harnessing AI’s ability to synthesise vast amounts of information and uncover novel insights, the Société could significantly enhance its research endeavours. However, he will also address important concerns such as algorithmic bias, the need for human oversight, and ethical considerations, ensuring that we fully appreciate both the power and the limitations of this transformative technology.
