In this workshop, through childlike curiosity and playful interaction, we will explore Laban’s principles to discover new spatial pathways, relationships and dynamics.
Founder of SOMA Jersey, Emily discovered dance in her 30s while studying for an MA - immersing herself in the work of Rudolf Laban and Joan Skinner (SRT). A drama teacher by profession, she has had no professional dance experience or ballet training and is uncomfortable with the concept of learning ‘steps’. She believes passionately in everyone’s innate capacity to move expressively and that discovering this is one of life’s great joys.
