Branch Director Tarnia emphasised the rewards of being a Samaritans volunteer:
“To be entrusted to a caller’s innermost thoughts, feelings and emotions at a time when they may be feeling at their lowest most vulnerable times, is incredibly humbling. The Jersey Branch of Samaritans is a diverse, close-knit group of people who willingly answer thousands of calls a year. The excellent training not only prepares you for communicating with our callers without giving advice but opens up a new way of communication with friends and family. A truly unique, rewarding charity”.
