*FREE EVENT* THURSDAY 17TH OCTOBER October’s full Hunter's Moon orbits closer to Earth than any of the other full Moons this year. It is one of the four supermoons of 2024. The Hunter's Moon was a signal for hunters to prepare for the upcoming cold winter by going hunting. Like the harvest moon, the hunter's moon is also particularly bright and long in the sky, giving them opportunity to stalk prey at night. Moonrise 18.04 Sunset 18.14 Once again, we shall be pointing our telescope skyward to discover the beauty of this month's SUPERMOON. There is also a great opportunity to enjoy finding various constellations, planets and satellites. Obviously we are very weather dependent! Please meet us at the benches above Long Beach car park, Grouville, from 17.00. If you have binoculars and a folding chair please bring them along. Warm clothing and a hot drink are a good idea.
