In celebration of Samhain, the ancient festival of the dead now known as Hallowe’en, ArtsCentreTheatre present their own festival of fear; three classic tales of ghastly horror and ghoulish terror freely adapted for the stage (and for ACT) by Jason Kenyon for an evening of the macabre that will chill the blood and strike fear and dread into the heart. The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe A murderer is tormented by the ghostly heartbeat of their victim. Are they merely insane, or is the corpse’s phantom haunting them? The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson The virtuous Henry Jekyll’s ill-advised experiments unleash the monstrous Edward Hyde upon an unsuspecting world. The Monkey’s Paw by W.W. Jacobs A cautionary tale of a severed appendage that grants its possessor three wishes, but at a terrible price!
