Details

Lace up your walking shoes for an easy 2-hour circular walking tour with your Jersey Uncovered Blue Badge Guide, which begins at the Town Hall, and heads into St. Helier, through ancient byways, and some cobbled streets, for an entertaining historical adventure.
St. Helier, Jersey’s capital, is our island’s main retail district and home to a third of Jersey’s population. The area was favoured by wealthy fisherman, privateers and traders in the early 19th century and grew when they set up permanent homes and established it as the island’s administrative centre. On the walk you will admire architecture reflecting the Regency, Victorian and Modern styles popular at the time of St. Helier’s growth.
On your journey, gain a fascinating insight into the turbulent history of this area, and the people who lived here over the centuries, as we take in our picturesque 12th Century town church, the Place du Marché, otherwise known as The Royal Square, our charming French Lane and the Victorian Markets. Find the hidden stories in the pavings of the Royal Square, and perhaps spot the hidden treasure in the cobbles of La Rue es Française. It is all their to discover when you know where to look.
This informative, entertaining and easy circular walking tour will take approximately 2 hours, and will hopefully leave you with tales to tell of a picture-perfect town adventure.
