The story of Lucy Schwob and Suzanne Malherbe is really three stories rolled into one: a Love Story, a Spy Thriller and an Art House Documentary.
Known by their artist names of Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, these two artists moved to Jersey from France in 1937 when they were both in their mid-40s. They were no doubt looking for a quiet life, but they could not know that 3 years later, the island would be under a Nazi occupation.
This tour will look at their lives, their work and their resistance activities, for which they were ultimately imprisoned, in 1944.
This tour will pay tribute to their remarkable lives.
NOTE: This Tour will start from the St Brelade's Bay Hotel. Meet in front of the entrance to the hotel for a 6pm start. The tour will last roughly one hour and is an
easy
walk.
