How to Attend Out-There 2026: Patrick Topping and Hybrid Minds in Jersey

Category: Guides

Hey everyone, Alyssa here! Summer has truly arrived in Jersey, and you can already feel that electric, sun-drenched energy taking over the island. With live outdoor music, high-octane beach sports like the St. Ouen's Bay Sand Racing, and gorgeous coastal heritage events filling up the calendar, there is no better time to plan a trip. But if you are a fan of electronic dance music, I know exactly what you are looking forward to: the massive out there festival jersey 2026.

Returning to the stunning, tree-lined valley of the Val de la Mare reservoir on Saturday, July 4th, Out-There is officially our biggest summer electronic dance event. This year, the anticipation is sky-high with heavyweights like Patrick Topping and Hybrid Minds headlining the stages. There is something truly magical about dancing in a lush, natural reservoir setting as the sun goes down over the Channel Islands.

Because the festival kicks off at 3 PM, you have the entire morning and early afternoon to soak up the best of Jersey. Whether you are flying in for the weekend or you are a local looking to make a proper staycation out of it, I have put together a practical guide on where to stay, where to grab a brilliant brunch before the gates open, and how to recover the next day.

Nailing Your Basecamp: Where to Stay

While Val de la Mare is nestled out in the western parishes (near St. Ouen and St. Peter), I always recommend that festival-goers base themselves in the capital, St. Helier. The transport links are much easier, you are surrounded by great recovery breakfasts, and the official festival buses usually depart from town.

If you want to treat yourself, the Pomme d’Or Hotel in Liberation Square is a fantastic choice. It offers lovely harbour views, modern quarters, and an incredibly central location that makes wandering to the bus pickup a breeze. Plus, they have an outdoor pool and sauna—ideal for sweating out those festival toxins on Sunday morning.

For a sleeker, contemporary vibe right on the water, you cannot beat the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Jersey. Situated on the Elizabeth Marina, it boasts beautiful bay views, an indoor pool, and a gym. It is wonderfully relaxing, giving you a quiet haven to retreat to after the heavy basslines of Patrick Topping.

If you prefer something a bit more budget-friendly and charmingly homey, check out the Thalatta Guest House. Located on Cleveland Road, it is close enough to the beach for a morning stroll but tucked away from the busy business district. The breakfast here is fantastic, and the front desk team is famously sweet, offering a brilliant, no-fuss base for your weekend.

Pre-Festival Fuel: Brunch and Coastal Eats

With a 3 PM start time, you do not want to arrive on an empty stomach. A long, relaxed brunch is the perfect way to build the hype with your friends before heading into the valley.

If you are staying in St. Helier and want a vibrant spot to gather the group, book a table at Hugo's on Halkett Street. Their weekend brunch is excellent—think beautifully cooked dishes, a comfortable, friendly atmosphere, and attentive staff. It is a fantastic spot to grab a coffee, or perhaps a cheeky pre-festival cocktail, before heading west.

Prefer to head out towards the festival site early and soak up the rugged west coast? Make your way to St. Ouen's Bay. You can hire some wheels from Zebra Bike Hire in town and cycle the coastal routes. Once you reach the five-mile road, stop in at El Tico. This place is legendary for a reason. The fresh seafood and vibrant curries are superb, and the atmosphere is always buzzing. Alternatively, a little further down the bay, Le Braye Cafe serves up a wonderful, relaxed coastal lunch right on the sand. It is the ultimate spot to watch the surfers before you trade the ocean waves for sound waves.

If you are looking for a hearty, traditional meal tucked away in a leafy valley (which feels very on-theme for Val de la Mare), drop into The Vic In The Valley. It beautifully blends old and new, and their chilli beef nachos and huge portion sizes will ensure you have plenty of energy for dancing.

The Day After: Recovery and Exploring

Sunday morning will likely call for fresh sea air and a hearty meal to cure any lingering fatigue. Jersey's coastline is the perfect remedy.

Head straight back to St. Ouen's Bay and secure a table at the Watersplash Beach Bar & Diner. Nothing cures a hangover quite like their spiced chicken burgers, a side of curly fries, and a front-row seat to the crashing Atlantic waves. It has a super relaxed, surfer-friendly vibe where nobody will judge you for wearing your sunglasses indoors.

If you want a more refined lunch with stunning bay vistas to ease you back into reality, Mark Jordan at the Beach on the route to St. Aubin is spectacular. Skilfully cooked local produce in a chic, glass-walled terrace will have you feeling human again in no time.

Once you are fed, blow the cobwebs away with a bit of local culture. Since you are likely already in St. Helier, take a stroll out across the tidal causeway (or catch the amphibious ferry) to Elizabeth Castle. Not only is the historic 16th-century fortress incredible to explore, but this summer it is also hosting the 'Vraiqu'sie' exhibition—a sensory, multi-disciplinary art display honouring Jersey's seaweed harvesting heritage.

Alternatively, if you want an adrenaline rush to wake you up, book a high-speed RIB boat tour with Jersey Seafaris. Spotting dolphins and seals out by Les Écréhous is a memory that will rival even the best DJ sets of the weekend.

And if you decide to extend your stay into the following week, do not miss the chance to catch the chilled Ibiza sunset vibes at the Summer Night Sessions at Mont Orgueil Castle. Pack a picnic, sit under the medieval keep, and listen to local DJs spin tracks as the sun sets over Gorey Harbour.

Tickets for Out-There always sell incredibly fast, so make sure to check their official site for availability, and book your flights and hotels as soon as possible. Have an amazing time, stay hydrated, and I will see you in the valley!
