The Salvation Army Community Cafe in Jersey provides a welcoming space for everyone and serves freshly homemade soups free of charge daily, believing that no one in Jersey should go hungry. They have partnered with Highlands College and the Jersey Employment Trust to offer work experience placements, helping individuals gain confidence and skills for employment.
The cafe is part of a larger community hub that was redeveloped and officially opened in December 2016. The space also includes a bakery and aims to empower people by providing opportunities to learn and work. In addition to the cafe, The Salvation Army in Jersey runs a charity shop and a lunch club, offering practical support, financial assistance, and a listening ear to those in need.
