Florence James is an award-winning small business based in Jersey, Channel Islands, run by a mother and daughter team, Gail and Gemma. Established in 2014, the brand is named in memory of Gail's mother and Gemma's grandmother. They specialize in luxuriously scented, hand-poured home fragrance products, including candles, diffusers, room sprays, and wax melts.
Their products feature vegan-friendly, paraben-free, and phthalate-free premium fragrances. The scents are often inspired by childhood memories and classic favorites. Florence James gained recognition by winning Theo Paphitis' #SBS award in 2018 and Jacqueline Gold's #WOW badge in 2019. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the lady who owns the shop but she obviously works very hard in selecting and displaying her stock. She does not stock and sell any ‘tourist tat’, rather she sells very attractive or ornate items, items carrying clever and apt little slogans, beautiful scarves in such pretty colours, scented candles, unusual key rings, gorgeous electric lamp’s displaying perforated patterns of butterflies, dragonflies, all sorts of things. She also sells quality jewellery, again beautifully displayed. There was nothing in there which I disliked but I have a spinal condition and couldn’t stand any longer but would have loved to have spent another hour browsing through all the lovely stock and spending! She seems to have a penchant for lovely slogans, angels, and quality jewellery, I think fairies should be her next project - just a thought! I really hope this lady does well during these difficult trading times, she certainly deserves to. I had a lovely time in her shop and if you manage to visit the island of Jersey do yourself a favour and visit Rozel Bay and whilst there do call into ‘The Lilac Dragonfly’, I’m sure you shall enjoy it just as much as I did!!
