The Lilac Dragonfly is a charming gift shop nestled in the tiny hamlet of Rozel, Jersey. It's known as one of Jersey's hidden gems and offers a curated collection of handmade gifts, jewellery, accessories, home decor, and locally produced items to suit all budgets. The shop focuses on showcasing local artisans, allowing visitors to connect with the island's culture and creativity.
Launched in 2012 by Sarah, a member of The Guild of Jewellery Designers, The Lilac Dragonfly initially focused on selling sterling silver jewellery online. The business gained recognition, winning awards such as a Small Business Sunday award from a former Dragon's Den member in 2014 and a #WOW (Women on Wednesday) award celebrating women in business. In July 2018, Sarah took over the lease of the physical shop in Rozel, expanding the offerings to include locally produced goodies, personalised cushions, bags, glasses, and Jersey-themed gifts and souvenirs.

Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the lady who owns the shop but she obviously works very hard in selecting and displaying her stock. She does not stock and sell any ‘tourist tat’, rather she sells very attractive or ornate items, items carrying clever and apt little slogans, beautiful scarves in such pretty colours, scented candles, unusual key rings, gorgeous electric lamp’s displaying perforated patterns of butterflies, dragonflies, all sorts of things. She also sells quality jewellery, again beautifully displayed. There was nothing in there which I disliked but I have a spinal condition and couldn’t stand any longer but would have loved to have spent another hour browsing through all the lovely stock and spending! She seems to have a penchant for lovely slogans, angels, and quality jewellery, I think fairies should be her next project - just a thought! I really hope this lady does well during these difficult trading times, she certainly deserves to. I had a lovely time in her shop and if you manage to visit the island of Jersey do yourself a favour and visit Rozel Bay and whilst there do call into ‘The Lilac Dragonfly’, I’m sure you shall enjoy it just as much as I did!!
