Details

Jersey War Tours is a non-profit organization offering unique guided tours of World War II German bunkers and Occupation sites in Jersey, many of which are not typically open to the public. These tours provide an in-depth look at the island's wartime history, led by knowledgeable volunteer guides who are actively involved in the research and preservation of these historical sites. All profits generated from the tours are reinvested into ongoing World War II research, preservation projects, and educational initiatives, ensuring the stories of the Occupation and Liberation are kept alive for future generations.

Visitors have the opportunity to explore a variety of fortifications, including bunkers, tunnels, and towers, and in some instances, handle safe, authentic World War II weapons and artifacts. The tours aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the German Occupation of the Channel Islands, the strategic importance of Jersey during the war, and the experiences of both the local population and the Allied forces. In addition to standard tours, Jersey War Tours also offers specialized experiences like evening bunker tours and Seafari War Tours, which combine boat trips with historical exploration of coastal fortifications.

A big thank you to Phil . We got there late and Phil was so accommodating and helpful too. He explained everything to do with the history of the bunker and the tunnel. I found it so interesting that it was used by the fisherman and how they adapted the tunnels.I loved the fact that we could try a lot of the guns , binoculars and hold the knives but I was very careful with it. I would recommend this amazing place to everyone. I had a fantastic time. I learned so much more about the war.

If you have any interest in the German occupation of Jersey in World War Two then this site is worth looking at.
Its location and construction are impressive and it is good that no one had to attempt to storm this position prior to the German surrender to the British Armed Forces in 1945.
Unfortunately we were too late to visit the inside but I would imagine that it would be worthwhile doing so.
