Details

Glass Blowing Jersey is the studio of Marc McCarty, the only glassblower in the Channel Islands. Located at Devil's Hole, the studio is open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to watch Marc create bespoke hand-blown vessels, sculptures, and lighting. Visitors can witness glassblowing techniques and even see large bubbles blown for children.

Marc McCarty has been a glassblower for several decades and holds a BA Hons degree in hot glass design and sculpture. His work is inspired by the concept of "dark at the bottom and light at the top," a metaphor for life and death, earth and sky, and hot and cold. He takes commissions for various items, including drinking vessels, tableware, lighting, sculptural work, and memorial glass incorporating ashes.
