loved this club for a long time, have been going since I was 18, I am now 19 and they will not let me in. They say they are a 21+ club but as they make us stand as the side, I am made to stand there and watch dozens of people of my age (and younger) walk in without any fuss. Tried to have a civil conversation with the manager, but he was rude and unkind. If you are going to have a rule for a club (21+) stick to that rule, you can’t just pick and choose who you let in. Major let down as I am only back for a week before returning to uni and have had absolutely no issue going in before. Another excuse used was ‘oh they are 20 so they are close enough’. Ruined my night and defo ruined a lot of others. Very unprofessional.

Overall, Mimosa is a great place to dance and let your hair down. We are 3 friends who were looking for a good night out so we recommend Mimosa for a bit of fun.

However, we were frustrated and shocked at one of the manager’s behaviour, which we witnessed on 2 occasions that evening (the manager was mid height, slim and wearing navy chinos - ‘Manager A’).

When we were queuing to get into Mimosa, the woman behind us was loudly voicing that some men behind her had jumped the queue and this was unacceptable. We had witnessed the entire commotion and she was in fact referring to 2 men who had not queue jumped at all.

What actually had happened was that the woman had pushed in the queue (not the 3 men who she was wrongly accusing of queue jumping). Then, the woman (who clearly thought that she was above everyone else) asked another manager to speak to Manager A, who she knew by name. Consequently, she was then fast tracked by Manager A to the front of the queue and caused the 2 men (who she had wrongly accused of queue jumping) to be thrown out of the queue and not allowed into the venue.

The men politely and quite rightly spoke to the managers, including Manager A, to explain what had happened and that it was completely unfair that they had been not allowed into the venue due to the event that had taken place. Manager A handled the whole situation poorly by allowing the woman (who was a bully in our opinion) to queue jump but incorrectly blame the 2 men for doing just that. Even the other managers/ bouncers thought this was not the right call.

The second event that we witnessed at Mimosa was at the bar. Manager A randomly picked one man out of the crowd who was at the bar waiting for his drink and had him forcibly removed. It appeared to us that there wasn’t really a reason for this and clearly the man who was the victim was deeply confused. He handled the situation very calmly.

We were extremely disappointed with the management of Mimosa that we witnessed that evening. It was full of assumptions that were made without consulting any reasonable person or witnesses like ourselves. The manager was clearly deep in politics and did not promote a safe environment. Manager A needs to have a check on his egotistical behaviour.
