Zebra Car & Cycle Hire was a long-standing, locally founded hire company in Jersey, Channel Islands, established in 1968. Initially focused on car rentals, the business adapted to changing tourism trends in the 1990s by expanding significantly into bicycle hire, becoming a popular choice for tourists wanting to explore the island. They offered a large selection of bikes and were known for their fleet of 300 bicycles, including electric bikes.
The company was situated at 9 Esplanade in St Helier, close to the marina. However, Zebra Car & Cycle Hire quietly ceased operations at the end of June 2021, when the lease on their Esplanade premises expired. The site was slated for redevelopment into a five-story office block. At the time of its closure, the staff reportedly found positions with EVie Bikes, which became a prominent bicycle hirer on the island.
