St Peter's Parish Church in Jersey is an historic church that has served the local community for around 1,000 years. It is an inclusive church with a Eucharistic tradition, welcoming people from all backgrounds. The church is actively involved in the community, with strong outreach to children and schools within the Parish, including St Peter's Primary and St George's Prep.
The building itself features a chancel, nave, transepts, and two aisles. Its massive square tower with a tapering quadrilateral stone steeple is the tallest in Jersey, rising to 38 metres (123 feet). The church has an ancient and unique custom of ringing its bells, named Elizabeth and Mary, continuously on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This tradition originally celebrated a 15th-century victory over the French and now also heralds the birth of Christ.
The Church is open daily between 08:30 and 18:00. Service times vary, with a Eucharist every Sunday at 8 a.m. and Sung Mass at 10:30 a.m. There are also mid-week services.
