Jane James is an award-winning ceramic artist and the largest pottery producer in the Channel Islands. Working from her studio in St Helier, which overlooks the historic English Harbour, Jane and her team create unique coastal-themed ceramics. The ceramics are hand-cut, press-moulded, or slip-cast from earthenware clay, then fired and often mounted on driftwood collected from Jersey's beaches.
The Grade 3 listed Merchants House, built in 1818, serves as her main gift shop, art gallery, coffee shop, and working pottery studio. Here, visitors can watch the ceramics being made and browse a wide range of her work alongside other local arts and crafts. Jane James also has a gift shop in Gorey Harbour and an online shop, exporting her ceramics worldwide.
