Jersey Archive is the island's national repository, holding a vast collection of records on all aspects of Jersey's history, with some collections recognized by UNESCO. Researchers can utilize archive resources to trace family history, the story of their house or street, and learn more about over 600 years of Jersey's unique history, including the German Occupation during World War II.
Established in 1993, the archive collects and preserves records from the States of Jersey, former States Committees and Departments, current departments, ministers, the Royal Court, the Lieutenant-Governor, Parishes, Churches, businesses, societies, and individuals. Staff at Jersey Archive can assist with family history, property research, academic and professional enquiries, offer advice about preservation, and provide talks, tours, and education services. The archive also holds the collections of the Channel Islands Family History Society and was re-accredited under The National Archive Accreditation Scheme in 2021.
