Details

Fort Regent is a 19th-century fortification on Mont de la Ville (Town Hill) in St. Helier, Jersey, that has been adapted into a leisure centre. Originally completed in 1814 as a military fortress, the decision to convert it into a leisure complex was made in December 1967, with various facilities added in stages, including a roof in 1974 and the Gloucester Hall in 1978.

The States of Jersey and the Jersey Development Company are currently working on ambitious proposals to redevelop Fort Regent, aiming to restore its status as the island's premier leisure and entertainment hub. The plans include transforming existing spaces into a flexible 2,500-seat acoustic theatre, a multi-functional entertainment complex with bowling and an arcade, an arts and culture hub, and a multi-activity facility with a 'Ninja Warrior'-style zone and climbing walls. New outdoor amenities like a skatepark, pump track, and play and heritage trail are also part of the vision, with a focus on facilities for children and young adults. Consultation on these new proposals is ongoing, with construction anticipated between 2026 and 2028.

Really good soft play area and nice little cafe with a decent selection, a bit dated, but that's down to the States of Jersey and lack of investment in the fort / uncertainty for the businesses up there.

It's a loverly place but not really being used very well. A great place to go with the kids to use the play zone otherwise there is nothing else worth visiting unless you are going to a club up there.. Such a shame when it could be fantastic...

It's a shame it has been run down. There is so much potential and allot to give the island. What little available was enjoyable and would love to have visited it years ago when it was buzzing.

Walking around the fort and you see amazing sights. Must visit.
