St Catherine's Woods, also known as Rozel Woods, is a tranquil and picturesque woodland area located on the east coast of Jersey. It's a popular spot for easy walks and is particularly enjoyable for children, featuring stepping stones, streams, and rope swings. The woods are home to a reservoir built during the German Occupation, and some of the island's oldest trees can be found here.
Visitors can meander along wooded paths and through leafy enclaves, enjoying the diverse flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for red squirrels, great spotted woodpeckers, and various woodland flowers like bluebells and wild daffodils in the spring. The paths are generally flat, though the stepping stones can make it challenging for pushchairs. It's an ideal location for a family stroll, offering a chance to kick leaves, splash in streams, and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Open all year round.
