The Jersey Race Club, with a history dating back to 1832, initially held a two-day meeting on the sands at St Aubin. Over the years, the racing venue shifted multiple times, from Greve d'Azette in 1836, to Gorey Common (now the Royal Jersey Golf Course) in 1843, and also included locations like Jardin d'Olivet in Trinity and Les Landes in St Ouen. In 1894, the Channel Island Racing & Hunt Club was established to unify racing activities in Jersey and Guernsey under a single set of rules.
Since 1961, all racing in Jersey has been centralized at the current racecourse located at Les Landes in St Ouen. The sport of horseracing in both Jersey and Guernsey is regulated by the Channel Islands Horseracing Authority (CIHA), which was formed when the Channel Islands Racing & Hunt Club (CIR&HC) delegated its regulatory functions in 2018. The CIHA licenses racecourses, trainers, and jockeys, and sets the Rules of Racing. The Jersey Race Club hosts race meetings throughout the year, including on bank holidays and some evenings.
Race days only, times vary. Check website for specific race meeting times.
