Details

Grève de Lecq is a popular sandy bay located on the north-west coast of Jersey, Channel Islands. It's known for its sheltered position between high cliffs, making it a family-friendly beach with relatively calm waters. The beach has a traditional English seaside feel and offers opportunities for rock pooling and exploring nearby coastal paths. During the summer months, lifeguards are typically on duty.

Historically, Grève de Lecq has been an important defensive location. Nearby, you can find Grève de Lecq Barracks, the only surviving barracks on the north coast of the island, originally built in 1810 to accommodate garrison troops. The barracks are now managed by the National Trust for Jersey and partly used by ArtHouse Jersey as a creative space. The area also features remnants of an Iron Age hill-fort and a German bunker. Several cafes and pubs are situated near the beach.
