The Jersey Museum and Art Gallery, located in St Helier, presents the history of Jersey from Neolithic times to the modern day. Visitors can explore the island's rich heritage, including its archaeology and art. A highlight is the beautifully restored, gas-lit Victorian House, which tells the story of a Victorian family in crisis. The museum also features the 'aspiring Jersey Island Geopark' Visitor Centre, introducing the island's geological heritage.
The museum's collection includes significant artifacts such as a priceless Bronze Age gold torc and Sir John Everett Millais's portrait of Lillie Langtry. Various exhibitions are hosted throughout the year, including 'La Tèrr'rie d'Jèrri – d's histouaithes dé not' Île / Being Jersey – stories of our Island', which explores what makes Jersey unique. Entry to the Jersey Museum, Art Gallery and Victorian House is free.
