Details

Plemont Bay, also known as 'La Greve au Lancon', is a stunning, secluded cove on the north-west coast of Jersey. Accessible via a long flight of steps down a steep clifftop, the effort to reach it is rewarded by its natural beauty. The beach is sheltered by high cliffs and features some of the island's largest sea caves, which can be explored at low tide. Strong tidal patterns mean the beach is completely submerged at high tide, but a beautiful crescent of golden sand and numerous rock pools are revealed as the tide recedes.

Plemont Bay is a haven for wildlife, with puffins inhabiting the cliffs and various marine creatures like cuckoo wrasse and short-snouted seahorses in the waters. The surrounding dunes are home to green lizards, lesser white-toothed shrews, and short-toed treecreepers. Lifeguards patrol the beach during the summer months, and while generally safe for swimming, conditions can become challenging in choppy seas. The bay is also a popular spot for surfing and boogie boarding, with a sandy bottom and waves breaking close to shore. Visitors should check tide times before their trip to ensure the sand is exposed.

Worth all the steps to get down and back up again. Parking at the bottom is very limited, so it's a trek to get there and back but worth it.

Great to have lifeguards during the summer too.

Fantastic beach at low tide, at mid or high tide there is no beach left! And lovely caves too. Great dramatic cliffs. Nice cafe and facilities. Bit of a climb down to get to. North facing so not the best for sun.

Lovely sandy beach with a few caves to explore, you will have to find out when the tide is out as at certain times the tide is in no beach...park at the top it's free as limited spaces below and narrow to get down

Fantastic beach! Just make sure you go arrive around 3 hours after high tide otherwise you will have a wait.
