Incredible historic hike around entire Western coastline, with spectacular view and lots of seats along the way to rest and enjoy the views. Tracks are well established and lots of side tracks down to beaches and around the WW2 bunkers and artillery locations. This location is the first heavy artillery position, in range to interdict naval traffic and fire support for rest of coast to the North and Atlantic Wall beach approaches to the South East. Warning - German fortifications can be hazardous! ⚠️ Great place to walk and explore the west coast of Jersey but more to explore the German fortifications! Even if your not into ww2 history it's still very interesting for everyone! Will be heading back once the bunker has opened for the summer! This headland contains a number of formidable World War Two German defences constructed during the occupation of Jersey. On close inspection, the array of bunkers, observation towers and gunpits are impressive in their construction and their field of vision over the ocean.
