Food was fine but nothing special. The meat was well cooked and tasted well but nothing had strong flavour. The waitress seemed like she had a chip on her shoulder, not rude, just sharp. Wouldn’t recommend if you are only in town for a few days and need to be picky.

Great party at Barros Tropical Bistro evening of 29 November 2024, 20 of our group on a long table. Service was efficient and food was excellent, great value as well. Smoked Salmon & prawn starter very fresh & delicious. Highly recommended..

Excellent food, generous portions, wonderful service.

Make sure to make a reservation as this restaurant can be very busy. It's a wonky little place with several doors that may or may not be the right one to get in. 😅 Aim for the door by Stopford Road.

You cannot go wrong with the set menu which comes with sides that don't ever run out. Portions of the mains are also generous. You'll have your fill of delicious Portuguese options and I just wish I can go back.

Don't be fooled by the outside. It is a fantastic portuguese restaurant with traditional menu offerings. Took my portuguese in-laws, and they loved chatting to the staff, and the food had many positive comments. Espatadas on point and the cabbage and chorizo soup was gorgeous. Thank you.

A small, dimly lit, but cozy Portuguese restaurant on the outskirts of town with very little to no on-street parking nearby. The service was a little slow and staff weren't very attentive, but the meal we enjoyed was very good. We'd be happy to dine there again in the future, but sorry to say, it's not a restaurant we'd highly recommend to friends or family.
