The staff were genuinely lovely and clearly doing their best in a difficult situation — a very busy restaurant and, it seemed, short on chefs. That said, waiting around 40 minutes with only water before anyone came to take a drinks or food order felt unacceptable.
The food itself didn’t really make up for it. Nothing stood out — it was fairly average. The roast beef was served in a soup plate, which made cutting the meat awkward with the high edges. The beef itself was also very brittle and lacking tenderness. The décor hasn’t changed in years either. I know that in a place like this décor isn’t meant to be the main attraction, but when the food doesn’t stand out either, it becomes more noticeable.
Overall, a disappointing visit. Not sure I’d return.
