When we arrived a number of staff walked past before eventually asking if we had a reservation, then taking us to our table. After 30 minutes nobody had come to take our order so I asked if we could order drinks.
When ordering drinks I asked if we could order food as well and was told “no” and that somebody else would have to come. They arrived 15 minutes later (45 minutes after arriving) at which point we decided we would go elsewhere. We were met with a perfunctory apology, paid our bill and left.
The entire time we were there we felt invisible. The staff all seemed stressed or disinterested and weren’t particularly friendly. The staff were also apologising to a number of customers in the vicinity. Based on our experience it doesn’t give the impression of a well run business.
I understand that there can be busy periods and delays etc. but these issues can be managed by friendly service. Such a shame, we will not be visiting again. This is easily the worst service I’ve received in 12 years in Jersey.
By contrast we went to the Salty Dog after leaving and faced none of the same issues - it was brilliant there.

It was a Monday in late March, but the place was packed, which showed that it clearly drew in a good crowd even on a Monday. The coffee was very nice, and it was lovely to sit out in the Spring sunshine and enjoy it. When we returned for lunch, we just wanted something light, so we shared the Prawn Tacos with Sweet Potato Fries. They were perfect to share, and were packed full of flavour. The Sweet Potato Fries were also some of the best I’ve ever had! I would say that the prices are fair for the quality of the food, but it was on the higher side for lunch.
It was a great spot for a drink and lunch, and I would certainly return again in the future. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a great lunch with a beautiful view and tasty food.
We were greeted by lovely friendly staff and shown to a table. There were all kinds of delicious sounding food on offer (think, lobster, mussels, crab etc). Thinking of our onward journey, we opted for something modest - crab sandwiches - with wine and beer. Oh my! What amazing sandwiches they were. Our minds were truly blown! So much so that my wife needed more wine and we shared a delicious Basque cheesecake too. We lingered longer than we thought we should, but needed to soak up the perfect ambience of the moment. Our time at Le Braye served only to leave us wanting more - and to delay our progress northwards. We never did reach the top end of the beach.,
Next time we visit Jersey we will 100% call in at Le Braye, though we might well walk south along the beach, knowing what lies ahead. Perfect in every way.
