This was by far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The batter was light and perfectly crispy, with no greasy feel or old oil smell. The fish was incredibly fresh, probably the freshest cod I’ve ever eaten and cooked to absolute perfection. Moist, flaky, and not dry at all.
The chips were just as good. Crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and plenty of those smaller crispy bits that I love. Even the lemon wedge had the seeds taken out, which is such a small thing but shows real attention to detail. The curry sauce and mushy peas were both spot on. Honestly, it’s an easy 100 out of 10 for the food.
The service was just as impressive. I was welcomed the second I walked in and told to sit wherever I liked. The lady serving me was friendly, chatty, and really knew her stuff. She even explained how they make their batter, where they get their fish, and how they do their chips. You can tell they care about what they do and are passionate about getting it right.
I’ve definitely found my new favourite place for fish and chips, not just in Jersey but anywhere in the UK.
