The receptionist was super polite and front of house was strong throughout. The parking area is very well maintained with good sized spaces, and the entrance to the hotel is smart, clean and clearly well looked after.
The room was clean and a good size. Furniture is the darker mahogany style but all in good condition. Temperature was good, slightly on the cooler side which I liked. The bathroom was a decent size, although the towels were an off yellow colour which just makes them feel a bit tired and not very inviting. There is a fridge in the room and two bottles of water, which is a nice touch. A small downside is the lack of plugs or USB ports by the bedside tables.
One thing worth flagging is the curtains. They did not fully close, leaving a gap that let light in and affected privacy, as the blackout curtains are shorter than the window. We mentioned this to reception and explained we clipped them together with a hair clip as a temporary fix. Not a big issue for us, but something that would be worth fixing for future guests. Soundproofing could also be better, as you can hear people outside the room, likely due to the gap under the door.
Booking direct comes with a drinks voucher, which is a nice idea in principle, but the bar experience let it down.
The bar was very quiet around 5pm and the voucher only applied to house wine or house spirits. I politely asked if I could pay the difference for a cocktail and was told no. The bartender was dismissive, disinterested and borderline rude, which is why I have marked the overall service as 3 out of 5. Without this interaction it would have been a clear 5 out of 5. His attitude completely put us off spending any money at the bar, so we went elsewhere instead. Allowing guests to pay the difference to upgrade a drink would definitely improve the experience.
Breakfast was included and was decent. It was busy, but the staff worked hard, kept everything topped up and were polite throughout. Sausage, bacon and eggs were all good.
A few minor points aside, it’s a good hotel with good front of house and would benefit from a few small improvements.
A highlight of our visit was the exceptional service we received from Lorenzo. He was genuinely one of the kindest, most generous, and most uplifting staff members we’ve ever encountered. His warm sense of humour and cheerful personality brought such a lovely energy to our table. He went above and beyond to make us feel cared for.
I would highly recommend The Savoy Jersey Hotel for afternoon tea, not only for the wonderful food but also for the outstanding staff who make every moment feel joyful, especially Lorenzo. We will definitely be returning soon! :)
The cocktails are absolutely delicious. Each one is expertly mixed, perfectly balanced, and full of fresh, vibrant flavour. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the mixologist.
We also had an overnight stay, the bedroom was impeccably maintained, offering a high level of comfort and elegance. The in-room jacuzzi was a standout feature, providing a luxurious and relaxing way to unwind after a long day.
A big thank you to Laurentio and the team. We highly recommend it.
