My husband and I visited the Moorings restaurant this evening with our 10 week old baby. We are huge foodies and very much miss dining out! It was a beautiful sunny day so we made a booking and decided to brave witching hour(s). We’re glad we did because had the most delicious dinner. The food was delicious, best ribeye I’ve had in a long time and the wine list extensive by the glass. The stand out element for us however, was the staff. Every single member of staff we engaged with were encouraging and welcoming, and invested in us enjoying our dinner. Our baby was a little bit fussy to begin with and we were met with kindness and consideration, the staff went above and beyond to find a table to accommodate our pram and shade, and brought our courses out as we were free to eat them. We had such a lovely night and it is very much appreciated.

We were really taken with the feel of the bar and restaurant once inside, with pretty and tasteful decor and feel. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was delicious, served on nice china plates with good quality cutlery. It was so nice to see pretty fresh flowers on all the tables too.
We shared a very interesting selection of breads to start, then my husband had the moules marinieres, while I chose the tempura cod bites. Both dishes were delicious....well cooked with quality ingredients and beautifully presented. A scoop each of lemon and rhubarb sorbet completed our meal.
We would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting overlooking Gorey harbour, and we very much hope to return.
It a lovely hotel, in a lovely spot which is excellently run by Iselin and Matthew. The staff were engaging and professional, the food was excellent and the hotel is immaculate.
We were made to feel like friends and we'd loved to have been able to stay longer.
