Stunning location overlooking St Aubin harbour.
Beautiful staff, stunning decor and super comfortable rooms eoth sheer elegance which seems natural to this hotel and not forced.
Menu for evening dining (semi formal) You must rebook as this place is highly saught after with not just residents.
Private dinning area for that special meal available.
This place covers all events too including weddings for which this place is a special place and the staff like Maureen asking care of service in the morning with an amazing Scottish accent slipping through and Masha on reception who greeted me with the most amazing warm welcome, as ex hotel manager the few team members I met ooze hospitality withease and it is their passion.
Breakfast was lovely and last night I went for a lighter option charcuterie board and a few brambles, the main menu boasts local cuisine and local oysters to amazing well excecuted dishes by the head chef and his brigade of talented chefs as i noticed dish go past.
I will be back again. Beautiful in every aspect and worth every penny and more.
Did i mention they have an outside pool, heated from May to September and lovely seating areas to enjoy the passing of small boats and yachts as they come cruising in to moor.
All of the staff could not have been more helpful.
Very nice food served in either the restaurant or bar area.
The outdoor pool was undergoing some cleaning process so closed while we were there, but a nice size pool overlooking the private gardens.
The bus from St peter port to the airport runs every hour (in Sept/Oct) and stops very close to the hotel entrance.
One very minor fault with the bathroom, was immediately sorted out, with no fuss.
I really enjoyed my stat here and would recommend it.
The views over the bay are simply stunning ππ , and you're never far from Jersey's best attractions, coastal walks and beautiful beaches. πΆββοΈππ
A perfect base to discover the island while enjoying a peaceful and picturesque setting. Highly recommended!
Fabulous location with views across the harbour.
Food was top notch, staff were great and the room was adequate enough but a bit on the small side.
Nice pool to cool off if it gets hot.
Thoroughly recommend.
What really sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff. Every member of the team has been warm, caring, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. This morning I found myself in a difficult situation, and the staff went above and beyond to help resolve the problem quickly and with such kindness and good humour. Their professionalism and willingness to help made a stressful situation so much easier.
The service here has been exceptional from start to finish. It's clear that the team takes great pride in looking after their guests, and it has made our stay all the more memorable. I would not hesitate to recommend The Somerville Hotel and would be delighted to return.
Be aware that the hotel is set on a hill so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Having said that, we had no problems with either climb to the hotel and we are no spring chickens!
The standard of food in the Somerville Hotel is superb and the afternoon tea is excellent value for money.
Delighted that sourdough bread was available at breakfast along with many other local goodies such as Jersey yoghurt and Jersey butter (for the sourdough toast!).
The hotel pool is also spotlessly clean and a decent size. Plenty of sun loungers and parasols. The hotel bar is also very pleasant with attentive and cheerful staff.
An exceptional hotel with some exceptional staff and exceptional views.
You won't be disappointed.
Furniture in bed room very mixed, some old fashioned, some new, the eclectic mix not quite working.
All staff friendly, reception especially helpful. Dining room staff, esp mornings, bit hit & miss. (If the staff were able to look after areas in dining room, rather than everyone everywhere, it would be better, then people would not be missed & left waiting.)
Lovely evening meal, be specific with how you want your breakfast cooked, and it will be good!
The room was not large: the twin beds had no space between them. However, it serves the purpose, was beautifully furnished and decorated, very clean and had an amazing shower.
Breakfast (continental) was great - lots of choice and fresh every day.
The entire hotel is very well presented; Gorgeous decor and very clean. The staff are really the heart and soul of the hotel and will do everything to make your stay amazing.
Location in St Aubin as great. However, there is quite a steep hill down to the shops and shoreline. Unless you have a car this could be tricky for someone with mobility challenges.
I would definitely recommend. and will return
