These charming accommodations are set within a beautifully restored traditional Jersey farmstead, originally dating back to 1880, with a refurbishment that has earned commendation from the Jersey Architectural Design Commission. Surrounded by agricultural fields and an abundance of country walks, the atmosphere is one of peaceful relaxation, making it an ideal base for those seeking a quiet retreat. Despite its rural setting, the cottages are centrally located on the island, providing easy access to the north coast bays, cliff paths, and the vibrant capital of St. Helier, which is just three miles away. Nearby attractions such as the renowned Jersey Zoo (Durrell Wildlife Conservation Park) and the Eric Young Orchid Foundation are also within a short drive.

Each unit provides essential amenities including bed linen and house towels, Smart TVs in the lounge areas, flat-screen terrestrial TVs in bedrooms, DVD players, and reliable Wi-Fi. Fully equipped kitchens feature electric cooking facilities, microwaves, fridges, freezers, washing machines, irons and boards, and cafetieres, with some cottages also offering a dishwasher. Underfloor central heating is provided seasonally for added comfort. Guests benefit from separate entrances and a traffic-free, sheltered courtyard, complete with individual tables, chairs, and umbrellas, perfect for alfresco dining and utilizing the communal BBQ area. Additionally, a generous 1.5-acre grass area is available for various ball games, and ample parking is provided, with a car highly recommended for exploring the island.

Le Hurel Cottages are particularly well-suited for families seeking a memorable holiday, with children of all ages warmly welcomed. The availability of cots, high chairs, and Z beds, along with the expansive grass area for games, caters to the needs of younger guests. The flexibility of bed configurations, offering both double and twin options across one, two, and three-bedroom cottages, accommodates various family sizes and group compositions. A wonderful, comfortable cottage with all amenities. All attractions on Jersey are within easy reach,we particularly liked picturesque Gorey village and harbour, with a magnificent mediaeval castle well worth the visit.
The owner John is very hospitable and friendly.
It is advisable to get a parking disc and a number of pay cards available from the Town Hall in St Helier,Morrisons supermarket, and garages to help with parking on Jersey.
That being said, we found areas which didn't need these, but it advisable to read the signs where you park first, to avoid any fines.

Perfect! My family and I have stayed here on four separate occasions now, spanning 8 years and it's still as fresh and well presented as the first visit. John and his family really look after their cottages and they look and feel like new every time we visit. The amenities there are excellent, with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Washing machine, dish washer, fully equipped kitchen with all the pots, pans and utensils you could ever need. A relaxing lounge area, comfortable beds and all clean like new. The wifi is also excellent! The large playing field is really useful for children and there's enough room to accommodate everyone. Highly recommend this place.

We booked a holiday for our young family based on the description of the ‘quiet rural’ location.

We were heavily disrupted by a local concert spanning serveral days so suggest before booking you check what’s going on at the Jersey showground just up the road.

However the main issue in our view was the dismissive attitude of the owner to concerns we raised. A total lack of empathy.

It is a shame as the property itself was excellent but I would definitely not recommend staying here based on our personal experience.
