We arrived late on a Saturday evening by ferry and walked 20 minutes from the harbor to the Banjo Hotel, where a friendly waiter from the fine Banjo Restaurant greeted us warmly and immediately introduced us to the hotel. The practically new room (Earnest) on the second floor was elegantly furnished, with high ceilings. The double bed was extremely comfortable, plenty of space, large windows with thick curtains, and an adjoining lounge with comfortable club chairs. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The refrigerator contained water, white wine, and fresh milk. Outside was red wine (a canned Malbec - still excellent), and in a drawer, nicely arranged, were teas, sugar, and coffee capsules, along with the corresponding machines. The air conditioning is very quiet and easy to operate. The floor is covered in a clean sisal carpet. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. What's special is that there are only four or five luxurious suites on the second floor. The reception is the same as for the restaurant, which is unfortunately closed on Sundays. We were able to leave the building through the somewhat hidden exit, secured by a modern badge system. For the price, we received an above-average level of luxury and spaciousness in the room, but there was no room service on Sunday, nor any breakfast. An excellent breakfast spot was the Downdog, two streets away (see the separate review). The shower is a bit narrow, and the glass door is jammed, but the rain showerhead is wonderful!

We received a very warm welcome from a member of the restaurant staff on our arrival. As this is a restaurant with rooms, there is no full time reception.
The suite was lovely, exactly as shown in the photos on the website. Spacious and spotlessly clean with a minibar stocked with water, wine, and milk for your beverages. These were restocked daily with extra on Saturday as housekeeping doesn't take place on Sundays.
You may need to leave and enter the building by the side door as the front door is only open during restaurant times.
We didn't opt for the breakfast as we prefer to be a bit flexible in the morning.
The location is perfect with just a few minutes walk to Liberation Square and the bus station. You can get pretty much everywhere from the station. There are also really good tours available from this area. Be mindful though that they tend to duplicate each other a bit.
There was a bit of roadside noise on Friday and Saturday nights but you're in an area with pubs etc so it's to be expected.
All in all, we really enjoyed our time in Jersey and it was nice to come back at the end of the day to 'Ernest' our lovely room.
The only negative comment to be made is that the shower cubicle is a bit snug. Could do with being a bit bigger.
